PROFESSIONAL BID WRITING
In this age of austerity how often have you told people that your organisation is "surviving"? Income generation for some has become harder and harder. Traditional methods no longer seem to work and survival has become a struggle. A well thought out fundraising strategy will help to establish some direction and new knowledge can often be the key to unlock a new funding source. With Brendan's knowledge and experience you will change from just surviving to seriously sustaining! No fundraiser can ever guarantee that their bid writing skills will generate the grants that are being requested, but Brendan feels that he will improve your potential in this area. Let's chat - nothing ventured - nothing gained.

Some organisations struggle to see the importance of using a professional bid writer, whilst others have reached a point of realisation that unless they invest they will fail to see the return. In 2014, according to the Institute of Fundrasiing the average return of investment (ROI) for bid writing is 9:1. That means for every pound invested you will see a nine pound return. Brendan's track record for each client will vary, but we are pleased to tell you that our work with one client has seen a 65:1 ROI. This organisation says that Brendan saved them from closure.
Brendan Conboy thinks back to a time when he felt that he didn't have time to do any funding applications. He was the only paid worker in a growing organisation and two lovely volunteers offered to take care of the fundraising, including the bid writing. After several months without any grants he decided to look at the funding bids that had been written. The whole approach from these two well meaning volunteers was completely wrong. It was a serious wake up call which quickly led to Brendan seizing control of the bid writing. Now he says that if you think that you don't have time for bid writing you need to make time. If you can't make time then you need to seriously consider engaging the services of a professional bid writer. If you are still unable to do that, then start looking for another job, because without the right level of bid writing you will soon be out of business and out of work.
Steps to working with a bid writer:
1. Contact Brendan and tell him about your organisation. This is usually a brief email or phone call which will nearly always lead on to a visit to your organisation and more in depth fact finding.
2. Visit to your organisation, after which both parties decide if they want to work together (Brendan will not work for just anyone, he has to believe in you).
3. You will be given a contract to sign and return. This protects both parties.
4. You will be provided with a list of information and documents that will be needed to be able to start work for you.
5. If you are unable to provide some of the documentation that is needed at any point (varies from bid to bid) then we are able to work with you to create the necessary documents (see Project Development page).
6. A number of "asks" are made for funding and you are kept updated with a regular report which highlights your ROI.
